SEE-Impact-Study of the German MedTech industry

The BVMed Institute has commissioned a study from the WifOR Institute to calculate the social, ecological, and economic footprint of the medical technology industry in Germany ("SEE Impact Study"). With this SEE industry study, BVMed aims to lay the foundations for a comprehensive sustainability measurement of supply chains based on key indicators and in an industry comparison. The renowned WifOR Institute has been conducting the Health Economic Accounts on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economics for more than ten years. Overall, the medtech sector compares favorably with other sectors in terms of ecological and social factors, but it also faces numerous challenges and needs to act. The study is a profound initial assessment of the situation, which makes clear that the external effects in the environmental and social area primarily occur in the indirect supply chain. More
