Advice for German companies on commercial dealings with clinics

Berlin/Germany. Given that companies increasingly have professional and sometimes commercial dealings with doctor and clinics, yet must not cross ethical and legal bounds in so doing, industry association BVMed has provided some guidance.

Recognising the trepidation with which some firms embark on such partnerships, the Berlin-based organisation has issued a 24-page publication listing model contracts for companies and clinics, covering: the use of medical experts for speaking publicly about a product; imparting advice; support for the manufacturer during technical presentations; sponsor/advertising contracts; and monetary donations.

The guidance has been drawn up in collaboration with the German association of hospital directors (VKD). For more information, visit: http://www.bvmed.de/publikationen/SponsoringKodex/
